HCMC EMS Ride Along Policy

In addition to the agencies who contract with HCMC EMS to provide first responder, EMT, and paramedic training, we receive a large number of ride along requests by both individuals and groups. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate all of these requests. Who can ride along with HCMC EMS?

  1. All ride along candidates must be 18 years of age or older
  2. Students in approved programs with current and valid contracts may ride with HCMC EMS. If you are not sure if your program is approved, contact Mike Rogers HCMC EMS Supervisor
  3. First responders affiliated with agencies within HCMC 's primary service area
  4. HCMC medical staff. Physician, ED nurse. Deviations from this criteria can only be approved by the EMS medical director or the Chief of Emergency Medical Services
  5. Individuals interested in seeking employment at HCMC. Prospective employee's must show proper identification, credentials and be approved by Director or assistant director.
  6. Anyone else interested a ride along with HCMC EMS needs to have prior approval from the Director of Emergency Medical Services.
